Opera Night: Opus #125, March 10th 2020

Join us Tuesday, March 10th, for Opus 125, as we celebrate the Grand Birthdays of Maestro Robert Ashens and of Angelo Servino! For those that have attended in the past, you know this is a celebration not to be missed. For the occasion, returning opera night star Tenor Alex Boyer will be performing alongside Soprano Victoria Sadow.

Tenor Alexander Boyer is steadily gaining recognition for his commanding voice and dramatic portrayals of the lyric and spin to tenor repertoire. He is an alumnus of the Merola Opera Program, the Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Program for Singers, and is a recipient of the Mario Lanza Scholarship Award. A New York native, Boyer holds degrees from Boston University and Manhattan School of Music.


From 2008 to 2013, he was a resident artist with Opera San José where he performed over 13 different roles, including Nadir (The Pearl Fishers), Manrico (Il trovatore), Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), the title role in the company premiere of Mozart’s Idomeneo, Alfredo (La traviata) and the title role in Faust.

Most recently, he has been seen as Cavaradossi in Tosca with Hawaii Opera Theatre and as Captain Ahab in Jake Heggie's Moby Dick with Chicago Opera Theater.



Soprano Victoria Sadow is rapidly establishing herself as a premiere interpreter of the lyric coloratura repertoire. Ms. Sadow recently debuted the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor with Verismo Opera in Vallejo, CA, to rave reviews. Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, Ms. Sadow holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Arizona.


Ms. Sadow made her professional debut with Opera Southwest in 2016, as Amenaide in Rossini’s Tancredi. Other recent appearances include performances with San Jose Lyric Theater, with the University of Minnesota, and with the University of Arizona.


An accomplished competitor, Ms. Sadow was the First Place winner at the 2014 Classical Singer Regional Vocal Competition and the 2012 National Association of Teachers of Singing Vocal Competition, as well as the Second Place winner at the 2012 Reiman Opera Competition.
